I have been enjoying this article by Dr. Susan Korsmeyer, entitled The Three Levels of Self-Awareness: The First Level: The Simple Ones, Second Level: The Complex Ones, and Third Level: The Extraordinary Ones. The article is about how to get into the flow state and what to do when that happens. I think it is a great piece of advice that we can apply to everyday activities. You can read it in full here.
The three levels of self-awareness are the most important thing for most people to learn about themselves. We should be able to “see” ourselves in the way that we feel we appear to others. This is the first level of self-awareness. The second level is to be able to see ourselves in the way that we are, even though we’re not aware of it.
All these levels are the same as what we usually find in the life of an Internet star. I really don’t want to go into some of the other level of self-awareness because it could be very confusing. I want to read “What If?” so that I can get more clarity and understand the meaning of what it means to be a high level of self-awareness.
In reality, this is the most basic level of self-awareness that we have. To be aware of our own actions. Think of this more as a light bulb that goes on in your head and makes you aware of your own actions. It has to do with your being able to see yourself in the way that you are. So the first level of self-awareness is to see ourselves as we are, the second one is to see ourselves as we would like to be.
In the article, the video, and the interviews with the devs of the game, the goal is for us to have this second level of self-awareness that makes us aware of our actions. The way we would like to be. Of course, we all have other parts of our lives where this second level of self-awareness is even more important. To be able to recognize what you are doing and what you need to do to not do it again.
The same could be said of the first level of self-awareness. To be able to identify what you are doing, and how to do it right. We all have habits, routines, impulses, and reactions that we use to carry us through our lives, so it’s important to be aware of these to make changes.
It’s good to be aware of the things we don’t need to be aware of. But I know that some people have a habit of thinking that they are just having a good time. I know that, if I’m in a new car, I am going to have to get a different car than I’m driving, and I don’t want to be driving a car that I don’t know about. I need to be aware of this.
I love that you just said “I know this.” I think it’s important to be aware that we have habits, routines, impulses, and reactions that we use to carry us through our lives, because as humans, our lives are not always going the way we want them to. We don’t always get what we want when we want it. So it’s important to be aware of these things to make changes.
If you want to improve your life, then you need to be more aware of your habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. If you want to stop smoking, for example, then you should be aware of when you smoke and when you stop. If you’re unhappy in your marriage, then you should be aware of what your husband does. If you hate your job, then you should be aware of how you feel and the things you can do about it. And so on.
When you’re on autopilot, there is no need to be worried about your habits. Even if it’s a small step, or if your spouse comes to you with a plan and you’re just having a hard time picking up on it. It’s a healthy habit to have.
